You might be asking, "What does it mean?" We're glad you asked! A gallipot is a small container that doctors and pharmacists use to hold medicines and ointments. These containers usually resemble a jar or bowl; in fact, you'll find one depicted in the Gallipot logo.
Dr. Schomer chose this name because he has an affinity for language and history, and he's never been one to shy away from teaching other people something new. You may not have known this word before, but now it's in every patient's vocabulary! You're welcome.
In light of SQ 788 (regarding the legalization of medical marijuana in the state of Oklahoma) we understand why some people have asked if the name "Gallipot" has anything to do with "pot." The answer is no. That last syllable is a coincidence, and Gallipot Pharmacy will not be dispensing medical marijuana.
Dr. Schomer earned his undergraduate degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa. He comes to Calera with a range of impressive pharmacy experience, including several hospitals as well as retail pharmacies.
Visit Gallipot Pharmacy and you'll quickly see that Dr. Schomer is a business owner and medical professional who is truly invested in the community.
